The Applied Biostatistics Association (TABA) invites you to a seminar, light supper & conversation:
Novel approaches to study design in clinical trials
Anastasia Teterina, MSc, Roche Canada
Matthew Kowgier, PhD, Roche Canada
Abstract: Drug development has changed significantly in the past decade, with more new molecules in research, more products entering market and increased drug approval timelines. These changes prompted development of novel approaches to study designs, allowing to assess more new drugs in a more efficient and expedited fashion. The presentation will give an overview of such novel approaches to study designs (umbrella trials, basket trials, platform trials) as well as of advantages and challenges associated with such approaches. Some aspects of early decision-making will be discussed. Two examples of studies from oncology will be presented: Morpheus (umbrella/basket platform phase 1b/2 study) and BFAST (phase 2/3 umbrella study).
